OPEN POSITIONS

  • Museum Sales Associate (Part-Time)

    We are seeking a part-time Museum Sales Associate who has excellent customer service and communication skills.  The Associate plays an important role in connecting families, schools, community groups, and visitors with Port Discovery’s programs and experiences. This position provides support across Group Sales, Memberships, the Box Office, Birthday Parties, and Overnights by assisting customers, processing reservations and payments, maintaining accurate records, and helping create exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, adaptable, and energized by working in a fast-paced environment that serves children and families. 

    Museum Sales Associates are cross-trained across Sales functions and may be assigned to different areas based on customer volume, staffing, and departmental priorities. 

    Weekend availability is required (Saturdays and Sundays). Flexible weekday scheduling is available based on business needs. Additional availability during holidays, special events, trainings, staff meetings, and occasional evenings is expected.  This position is part-time and provides 25 hours weekly.

Internships

Port Discovery is a great place to intern for college students of many disciplines. Whether you are majoring in museum studies, marketing, business, art/design, or education, Port Discovery provides a professional environment where your creative thoughts are encouraged.

Internships are often available throughout the school year with the Exhibits, Development, Marketing, Programs, and Education departments.  Opportunities are limited and are based on departmental needs.
