Come be a hero at a Children’s Museum not so far away! On May 4 & 5th, visit Port Discovery Children’s Museum for fun that visitors from all planets and galaxies are sure to enjoy. With activities ranging from building a laser sword to designing a robot and hero training, everyone is sure to find something that will put a smile on their face.
Foam Laser Sword Making (Studio Workshop, 1st Floor): To celebrate one of the most well-known franchises featuring spacefaring heroes, come build your own, take-home laser swords made from cardboard, tape, and foam pool noodles. Hold samples made by our staff artists and may the fun be with you!
Hero Training (11 AM & 1 PM) : Do you have what it takes to become a hero of the galaxy? Join in physical challenges as you train to become a hero in your own right.
Boomwhacker Orchestra: The Music of John Williams (12 PM & 2 PM) : Learn from our resident musician Mr. Seth how to play boomwhackers, a fun percussion instrument. Once you learn the basics, join the orchestra to play music from famous composer John Williams.
Moving Robot Designing (3 PM) : Design and build your very own robot out of cardboard, tape, and paper before setting in on top of a friendly KIBO to watch it move.
