BALTIMORE, MD (Sept. 8, 2023)- Port Discovery is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded $150,000 as part of the Nonprofit Security Grant Program! This is a federal program from the Department of Homeland Security / FEMA and is administered locally by the Maryland Department of Emergency Management. It is intended to provide critical support to nonprofit organizations in order to make our spaces safer, secure, and more resilient.
On Friday, September 8, 2023, a press conference was held to celebrate this year’s program award to Maryland nonprofits. Our President & CEO, Carter Polakoff, gave remarks and connected with Lt. Governor Miller, Senator Cardin, Senator Van Hollen, and fellow awardees.
We’re thrilled to be a recipient of this important grant. Many, many thanks to the senators and delegates who advocate for this program and to the MD Department of Emergency Management for selecting the Museum!
