Accessibility at Port Discovery Children’s Museum
Port Discovery is committed to welcoming all guests to experience our Museum, interactive exhibits, and learning through play. We do our best to give all of our visitors full access to our outstanding experiences and can provide individualized assistance during your visit. Mobility Support

Entrance
Port Discovery’s entrances are accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. The elevator provide access to all floors and exhibits.

Parking
Visitors may be dropped off near our front entrance via the circular driveway located at the front of the Museum (35 Market Place, Baltimore, MD). The nearest parking garage, Harbor Park Garage, is located directly next to the Museum.

Wheelchair Accessibility
Port Discovery is accessible to visitors using wheelchairs, including all entrances, restrooms, and elevators. Port Discovery’s exhibits and learning environments vary. A majority of the museum is barrier-free, and spaces can be adapted to accommodate varying age levels, developmental levels, and abilities. We do our best to give all of our visitors full access to our outstanding experiences and can provide individualized assistance during your visit. For specific needs, prior to or upon your arrival, please contact our staff to plan your best museum experience.

Service Animals are welcome at Port Discovery Children’s Museum.

Strollers
Strollers are allowed in the Museum. We ask that you keep your stroller with you during your visit unless visiting Tot Trails or Wonders of Water. If using a stroller in the Museum, please consider using as small of a stroller as possible. The entire museum is stroller accessible.

Nursing Room
A Nursing Room is located on the Museum’s second floor in the Tot Trails exhibit.

Restrooms
Restrooms are located on each floor of the Museum, and all restrooms have changing tables and wheelchair-accessible stalls. There are family restrooms on the first floor of the Museum near PD Presents and the Royal Farms Convenience Store and Fill’er Up Station and on the second floor of the Museum in the Tot Trails exhibit. Restrooms on the first and second floor feature some touchless features such as soap dispensers, faucets, and towel dispensers. Restrooms on the third floor currently do not offer touchless features.

A first aid room and trained first responders are available to provide assistance in the event of an emergency.

Do you offer any special sensory-friendly programs, events or resources?
The Museum strives to be an inclusive and accessible space that celebrates neurodiversity and welcomes people of all needs and abilities. We are a certified Sensory Inclusive facility, registered with KultureCity, and offer a variety of resources including Sensory Bags, Sensory Stories, and more. We also offer sensory-friendly and access & inclusion programs and events.
